Know your options before you pay

Tell us where you are and what you are getting rid of. If your city will take it free, we say so first, even though we make nothing when you walk away.

What are you getting rid of?Free

No phone number and no address. You get the answer first.

  • No phone number to see prices
  • Three haulers at most, never ten
  • Every price checked and dated
Checked against the official source
Three haulers maximum, your choice
Flat monthly fee, never per lead
Ranking cannot be bought

How it works

Start with the right disposal option, not with a quote

Most comparison sites want your number before they tell you anything. We think that is backwards, so we answer the question first.

  1. Tell us the item and the area

A ZIP code is enough. No name, no number, no address.

  2. See what your city does

If it is collected free or cheaply, that comes first, with the official page linked and the date we checked it.

  3. Then compare haulers, if you still need one

At most three, chosen by you, each with their own published prices rather than a number we invented.

Before you agree to a price

The number on the phone is not always the number on the day

The most common complaint in this trade is a low figure quoted to win the booking, revised upwards once the crew is standing on your drive and saying no has become awkward. After that come the charges nobody mentioned: a call-out fee, heavy item surcharges, stairs, a disposal levy added at the tip.

Paste a quote from anybody, listed here or not, and we will compare it against what haulers in your area published before they saw your job, and tell you exactly what to ask about.

Questions people actually ask

The things that go wrong, and what we do about them

Why does the price change when the crew turns up?

Because a lot of quotes in this trade are priced to win the appointment rather than to be accurate, and the real number arrives once someone is standing in your driveway and it is awkward to say no. We attack that from two directions. Every price you see was published by that company before it saw your job. And after a job is done we ask what was quoted and what was actually paid, then publish how often that company's price held. A firm that routinely quotes low and charges high cannot hide it here.

Will I get hit with fees nobody mentioned?

Not from a price list on this site. The most common surprises are dispatch or call-out fees, heavy item charges for sofas and mattresses, disposal levies on televisions and appliances, and add-ons for stairs or a long carry. Our software refuses to publish a price list where a charge every customer pays is presented as optional. If it always applies, it appears in the price.

Do I have to give my phone number to see prices?

No. A postal code and the item gets you the municipal options and the price range, with no account, no email and no phone number. We ask for an email only at the point you want firm quotes from named companies, and it goes to the three you pick and nobody else.

How many companies will contact me?

At most three, and you choose them. That limit is enforced in the database, not just the interface, so there is no path that sends your details to a fourth. We do not sell leads and we do not run an auction, which is why this does not turn into a week of phone calls.

What if my city will take it for nothing?

Then we tell you that first, before any paid option, and link the official page it came from with the date a person last checked it. We make nothing when you walk away and we would still rather you did than pay for something you did not need.

What does verified actually mean?

That a person checked that company's legal permissions against the authority that issued them, on the date shown. What is required differs by where you are: England needs Environment Agency carrier registration, Scotland needs SEPA, Ontario may need an EASR registration or an ECA, and most US states ask for a business licence and insurance instead. We check whatever actually applies rather than ticking one generic box.

Can a company pay to appear higher?

No, and it is not simply a policy. The function that orders results is never given a price, a tier, an amount paid or an advertising spend, so ranking by money is not something the software can express. Companies pay a flat monthly fee for an area with a hard cap on how many are in it, and that is the whole commercial relationship.

What happens if the job goes wrong?

Tell us. We record it against the company, look at their other outcomes, and act on a pattern. We will not remove a bad review because the company objected to it, and the software refuses that as a stated reason for hiding one.

For haulers

Stop paying for the same lead as four other firms

A flat monthly fee for your area

Not per lead. A quiet month costs the same as a busy one, and you know the number in advance.

A capped number of firms per area

When an area is full it is full. You are not bidding against everyone who signed up this morning.

Ranking you cannot buy

Fit, availability, response time and whether your final price matched your quote. Nothing you pay for moves you up.
